Peak Ubava, mount Jakupica

The name of Ubava Peak speaks volumes about the mountain, its surroundings, and the breathtaking vistas it commands. Rising to an elevation of 2346 meters, Ubava Peak overlooks the famed glacial lakes of Karadzica Mountain—the Salakovski Lakes (Salakovski Ezera)—adding a distinct allure to the hiking experience in this region, a mere forty kilometers from Skopje.

You can embark on the ascent from two starting points—the villages of Patishka Reka and Crn Vrv. Additionally, you have the option to organize a traverse of the mountain, commencing from one village and concluding the hiking tour in the other, in addition to the basic package.

The landscapes are nothing short of extraordinary, revealing a wilderness and untouched mountain nature that is remarkably close to Skopje.

The hiking trails to the summit are accessible for hikers of varying mobility levels, ensuring that everyone can partake in the adventure. And the panoramas and vistas from the peak never fail to leave a lasting impression, often leaving visitors yearning for more time to explore or planning a return visit to the mountain.

In essence, the hiking tour to Ubava Peak on Mount Karadzica epitomizes the quintessential hiking adventure in the Western Balkans—proximity to Europe, yet a world apart in its natural beauty and allure.
